Aerial Shot of Lakeside Inn

The Historic Lakeside Inn, Located in the Heart of the Mount Dora Historic District, Overlooking Lake Dora (approximately 6 miles long and about 3/4 miles wide.)

Located just 30 miles outside of Orlando, Mt. Dora is a quaint, historic, lake front community that is steeped in southern traditions of hospitality, sport and relaxed afternoons on broad porches beneath moss draped oaks. During your first few hours in Mount Dora you will wonder how such a place can still exist. When you’ve convinced yourself that it truly is real, you’ll never want to leave. At 184 feet, Mount Dora is one of the highest spots in Florida. When walking from the Lakeside Inn in to town or down to waters edge of beautiful Lake Dora, you will quickly see why this location was chosen to create the small town in the early 1880’s. The community has a history that is steeped in rich Florida orange growing, sporting activities such as fishing, boating and sailing and a well developed passion for relaxation, festivals and community involvement. When walking around town you will be struck by the cleanliness and genuine friendliness of everyone you encounter. There are no strangers in Mt. Dora. As the sun sets each evening over Lake Dora, the community comes alive with performed music around every corner. Fabulous restaurants and wine bars are in full swing as visitors and locals mingle, laugh, swap stories and enjoy the moment.

The community has a long tradition of community festivals and events. Each year the community plays host to such events as the Antiques Extravaganza, the Bicycle Festival, the Annual Craft Fair, the Annual Arts Festival, music festivals, special holiday events and so much more. The enthusiasm is boundless; the sense of community is real, which makes Mt. Dora truly a special place. The Lakeside Inn, because of our long history and central location is the cornerstone of the downtown district of Mt. Dora and is thus actively engaged in helping to preserve this treasured community.

Come and see for yourself what all the talk is about.
