Happy New Year!
The holiday decorations around town are slowly coming down and being stowed away until this fall. Exiting the Christmas season is always a slow transition in Mount Dora. After nearly two months of lights, decorations and themed events, it isn’t easy for the community to just pull-the-plug.
Here at the Inn we now have turned our attention to the busy upcoming winter season. In fewer than two weeks Renninger’s will be holding their January Antiques Extravaganza, a huge event that draws dealers in from around the country. Following that the Florida Storytelling Association will be returning to Lakeside Inn for the annual Florida Storytelling Festival, featuring some of the best storytelling, as told by skilled storytellers that you’ll find anywhere. Following that, it is time for the 50th Annual Mount Dora Art Festival. Again, an amazing event, featuring hundreds of juried exhibitors from around the nation. All of this is happening within just the next month.
We look forward to a busy winter season. Within this newsletter we have listed the majority of the upcoming events. However, if you prefer to visit during a less busy time and have the ability to plan a getaway during the week versus over a weekend, then consider a mid-week stay instead. The area restaurants and shops are all open and the various tours are all in full swing . . . and room rates are lower. Weekdays are a good time to really unplug and relax in Mount Dora.
