Sightseeing Tours:

Take in the sights of this charming town. The town's fascinating history and natural legacy intertwine to enhance the town's mystique.

Historic Trolley Tour -- The one-hour trip through time begins right here at the Lakeside Inn, the very spot that spawned the keepsake town of Mount Dora. Learn about its resident ghost, old families and matronly namesake as you see where they lived and built the town.

Gilbert Park -- Locals and visitors alike gather here to stroll, picnic, crawl around the playground, feed the ducks, or cast a line next to the world's smallest lighthouse. It's only a short walk from the Inn. On the way you may catch lawn bowlers dressed in tournament whites and engrossed in competition.

Nature Boardwalk -- Just past Gilbert Park, a one-mile nature boardwalk crosses the water out to Palm Island, where cypress and oaks provide habitat for a number of bird species. Alligators poke their gnarly snouts out of shallow shore waters.

Royellou Museum -- Incarcerated in Mount Dora's erstwhile jail, this museum holds memories of days past. It remember the town's original handle, named after the postmaster's three children: Roy, Ella and Louis.

Dora Canal Boat Tour - Departing daily from Lakeside Inn, Premier Boat Tours provides a 2-hour narrated Eco-tour of Lake Dora and the famed Dora Canal. Expect to see eagles and ospreys on the journey to and from the canal, then herons, egrets, anhingas and alligators and 2,000 year old cypress trees once inside the pristine, unspoiled Dora Canal.
