Emeralda Marsh
Located between S.R. 42 and S.R. 44 just north of Lisbon.

Historically the park extended itself towards the Eastern area of Lake Griffin. Today the park encompasses 7089 acres of conservation and recreational lands. Seasonal waterfowl hunting, fishing, hiking, bicycling, canoeing, horseback riding, boating and wildlife viewing.

Flat Island Preserve

The Flat Island Reserve is a park under the control of the Lake County Water Authority. The park is made up of 2300 plus acres that serve as a conservation area made up of swamps, marshes, and hardwood swamps. The Flat Island Boardwalk serves as the entrance to Magnolia Island. Hiking, Canoeing and Picnicking are among some of the activities to enjoy at this park.

Sawgrass Island Preserve

The Sawgrass Island Preserve is under the control of the Lake County Water Authority. The park is opened from 8 AM to Sunset. Sawgrass Island is made up of 1,137-acre preserve containing wildlife, trails and marsh. Located at the end of Lake Yale it serves as a refuge for wildlife including sand hill cranes, gopher tortoises, pocket gophers and scrub jays. Bird watching, hiking, and Horseback riding are some activities allowed in the park.

Ocala is one of three forests in the state of Florida run by the National Forest Service. The name Ocala derives from the Timucuan Indian term meaning "Fair Land" or "Big Hammock". The park has vegetation true to the Central Florida area. Ocala offers recreational activities such as: trails for biking, hiking, swimming and picnicking, scenic and observation trails, boating and more.

Rock Springs Run Reserve is located on 14,000 acres of native plants of the Central-Florida area. The park offers a variety of activities from Horse Camping to Canoeing. State parks in Florida are open 365 days a year from 8AM to Sunset.

Lake Louise State park has everything to offer a nature lover including a new special program that has become a favorite for many locals called "Coffee with a Ranger." There are boat ramps, canoes, nature trails, fishing, horse trails, and may other activities.

Lake Griffin State Park

Lake Griffin Park has 427 acres on canal to Lake Griffin; it is not directly on the Lake but provides access to it. Swimming is not allowed in waters within the park. Griffin State Park is home to the fifth largest live oak tree, located near the entrance of the park.

Discovery Gardens is composed of nine themed garden areas designed as park like settings. The garden serves as an educational resource developed to support programs in horticulture, gardening, and landscape design. Some children activities are available, tours are self guided.

Trout Lake Nature Center
